Combattre Agir Partager pour la santé
From November 2016, Hôpital Privé la Casamance will be working with all cancer sufferers thanks to the "C.A.P. Santé" programme, Combattre Agir Partager pour la santé.
This programme offers comprehensive care to help participants learn to live with the disease while preserving their health as much as possible.
Diet, a real therapeutic element in the treatment of cancer, will be addressed through dietetic sessions and therapeutic meals. As for physical activity, an essential vector for improving quality of life despite the disease, it will be proposed through various workshops. Physical activity, which is recommended during and after treatment, is also designed to help with physical rehabilitation and the restoration of body image. Sharing and exchanging ideas with other patients and healthcare professionals is essential if patients are to gain perspective on their state of health. This is why group psychotherapy sessions will be offered to help patients overcome their illness. Last but not least, wellbeing involves calming the mind. Teaching relaxation techniques through breathing and physiotherapy will enable patients to regain harmony of body and mind.
This programme, which is designed to help patients achieve overall serenity, takes the form of 2 or 3 different 2-hour sessions each week. All patients wishing to benefit from the support of a multidisciplinary team to help them deal with their worries or feelings of helplessness can register now. To do so, they must have a prescription and contact the chemotherapy secretariat at the hospital (tel. 04.91.88.47.25), which will have the calendars available.
