Marisol TOURAINE's Health Act of 26 January 2016 replaces the CRUQPC (Commission des Relations avec les Usagers et de la Qualité de la Prise en Charge) as the CDU (Commission des Usagers), which now has broader powers.
The role of the Users' Commission in each health care institution is to ensure that users' rights are respected and to help improve the quality of care for patients and their relatives.
Thanks to the law modernising the healthcare system, the individual rights of patients and the collective rights of users of the healthcare system have been consolidated, and the CDU has been given new responsibilities:
- The CDU is informed at least once a year of serious undesirable events occurring in the establishment and of the corrective measures taken.
- At least once a year, the CDU receives observations from volunteer associations working in the establishment.
- The CDU may propose a "user project" drawn up after consultation with user representatives and volunteer associations present in the establishment.
On1 December 2016, 4 user representatives (RU) were appointed by the Director General of the Agence Régionale de Santé PACA to join the CDU of Hôpital Privé La Casamance. These 4 user representatives are members of approved associations :
- Member no. 1: MARCELIN Maryse, member of the Ligue nationale contre le cancer (LNCC) (National League against Cancer)
- Full member no. 2: CHARPENTIER Jean-Robert, member of the Confédération de la consommation, du logement et du cadre de vie (CLCV) (Consumer, Housing and Living Environment Confederation)
- Alternate no. 1: COLSON Nicole member of the Association Provençale des handicapés insuffisants respiratoires (APHIR)
- Alternate no. 2: ALLAL Elisabeth, member of the Union nationale des associations de parents, de personnes handicapées mentales et de leurs amis (UNAPEI).
