History

LA CASAMANCE Private Hospital was founded in 1956 by Henri GAUTIER as a convalescent centre, which a few years later became a cardiology centre.
Since then, the establishment has continued to develop, thanks to a policy of sustained investment.

• 1970 construction of the 1st building with 150 beds
• 1988 opening of the technical platform with operating theatres and the interventional cardiology and cardiac resuscitation department (=>USIC)
• 1989 Opening of the scanner and nuclear medicine department
• 1996 creation of the outpatient rehabilitation and balneotherapy centre
• 1999 creation of the emergency and intensive care departments
• 2002 creation of the Aubagne health network economic interest group / V2 certification experiment
• 2003 opening of the MRI
• 2004-2006 construction of a building to extend the surgery and medicine departments
• 2006 merger with the Polysiane clinic. Opening of a senology department (diagnosis/screening)
• 2007 creation of a head and neck operating theatre and a dedicated outpatient department
• 2008 renovation of the sterilisation department
• 2009 opening of the continuous monitoring unit
• 2010 opening of the company restaurant and central kitchen and restructuring of the general radiology department
• 2011 expansion of the outpatient surgery department
• 2013 The clinic becomes a private hospital
• 2014 Opening of new interventional cardiology units and creation of the "Casa de Naissance" (Birth Centre)
• 2015 Renovation of 4 interventional theatres in the operating theatres and creation of a new theatre and renovation of the facades
• 2016 Opening of the "Lou Garlaban" consultation centre and redevelopment of the garden
• 2017 New speciality: Neurology with the development of day hospitalisation
• 2017 Formalisation of a joint medical project with Aubagne Public Hospital in line with the regional health programme
• 2018 Transfer of the maternity unit and expansion of the follow-up and rehabilitation care department
• 2021: Opening of the 5500m² critical care extension
