Sleep treatment

Contrary to popular belief, a sleep centre is not a place for sleep cures, but a place for diagnosing and offering treatment for sleep and wakefulness disorders.

At our centre, you can undergo a number of tests relating to sleep disorders:

• Respiratory polysomnography
• Respiratory polysomnography* + complete electroencephalogram (EEG)
• Prolonged night-time EEG
• Iterative sleep latency test (ISLT)
• Maintenance of wakefulness test (MWT)
• Prolonged nap EEG
• 48-hour recording for assessment of hypersomnia
• 48-hour recording for parasomnia assessment

To enable patients to fall asleep, ambient noise must be reduced. A wing of the Surgery Department is reserved for this purpose (single rooms) and staff are made aware of the need to respect quiet.

*A polysomnographic sleep recording is a medical examination which consists of recording several physiological variables during the patient's sleep (respiratory rate, heart rate, electroencephalogram, electromyogram of arm or leg muscles, etc.).
