Interpreters and communication

A list of staff members who speak a foreign language is available from the secretariats of the various departments.

Identification of professionals

Staff can be identified by their different uniforms:

  • Health managers: white uniforms,
  • Nurses: white uniforms,
  • Care assistants: white with dark blue piping,
  • Secretaries: black jackets and white blouses
  • Hospital service staff: white uniforms with a blue collar.

Each member of staff is identified by a badge showing his or her name and qualifications.

There are specific visiting hours for different departments.

During these times, we ask you to wait until the end of care and cleaning before entering the room. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed to visit. In intensive care and cardiology units, children over the age of 14 must be accompanied by a legal representative to visit the patient's bedside.

Meals

Menus are prepared by the chef and his team in the establishment's kitchens.

Meals are served

  • 7.30am to 8.30am for breakfast,
  • 11.45am to 12.30pm for lunch,
  • from 6.45pm to 7.30pm for dinner.

Bringing in outside food and drink may be contraindicated; it is subject to the approval of the nursing staff. Alcoholic beverages and toxic substances may not be brought in. For reasons of food hygiene and safety, it is forbidden to store food or drinks on windowsills.

Telephone

All rooms have a telephone with a direct line, the number of which is available in the room.

Mobile phones

Mobile phones are not recommended in certain departments due to the risk of interference with our medical equipment (ministerial circular no. 40 of 9 October 1995).

WIFI access

The establishment provides WI FI access. You will benefit from free access for 20 minutes. For WIFI access rates, please refer to the list of services and extra charges.

Television

Television is available in all rooms for a fee. All national channels are available, as well as some satellite channels. You can set up a subscription for each room at the TV point in the shop.

Private rooms

If you wish to be admitted to hospital in a private room, you must make a request to the pre-admissions department as soon as you know the date of your admission.

Your request will be met, subject to availability, on the day of your admission. If your health insurance does not cover this service, you will have to pay for it on the day of your discharge. You have the option of welcoming accompanying persons.

Companions

In private rooms, an extra bed can be provided for a member of your family at an additional cost. You can request this from the nursing staff on the ward. In twin-bedded rooms, accompanying persons are not permitted to stay overnight with the patient. A list of nearby hotels is available at reception. A meal may also be served in your room to your companion.

Medicines

If you are taking medication prescribed by your GP, this does not have to be continued while you are in hospital. Please bring your valid prescriptions with you. Your personal medication must be handed in to the nursing staff on arrival. They will be returned to you when you leave.

Deposit of valuables, papers and precious objects

Please do not keep your personal valuables (jewellery, money, cheque book, credit card, important papers, mobile phone) and leave them with a relative. You may, however, have access to a safety deposit box. To do so, please contact the manager of your hospital ward. We can only be held responsible for items or valuables entrusted to us against a deposit slip.

Dental and hearing aids

If you wear dentures or hearing aids, please inform the nursing staff as soon as you are admitted. A special box will be made available to you. Under no circumstances will the establishment be held responsible in the event of loss or disappearance.

During internal transfers (operating theatre, change of department), do not forget to leave your box with the nurse. We recommend that you use the storage box and, above all, that you do not wrap your prostheses in tissues or place them on a meal tray, as this is the best way of losing them.
